The Max Planck Partner Group for Balkan Criminology participates in a new comparative European study on restrictions and disenfranchisement of certain civil and political rights after conviction. A first workshop on the subject was held in Thessaloniki on 7/8 June, 2017. Dr. Michael Kilchling and Assist. Prof. Dr. Lucija Sokanović have presented the status quo in Germany and Croatia. A follow-up meeting will take place in early 2018 in which the preliminary general conclusions shall be discussed. The results of the project will be published in a comprehensive reader.The research project is headed by Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Albrecht, Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law, Freiburg (Germany) and Prof. Dr. Aggeliki Pitsela, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). The MPPG is represented so far by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anna-Maria Getoš Kalac, Dr. Michael Kilchling and Assist. Prof. Dr. Lucija Sokanović.
