Prof. Dr. Anna-Maria Getoš Kalac, Head of Balkan Criminology, featured in ‘Stolen: Catching the Art Thieves’ on 11/09/2022 on BBC Two @ 20:00. Prof. Dr. Getoš Kalac provided criminological and criminal law insights related to the ‘1994 Frankfurt art theft’, when three famous paintings were stolen from the Kunsthalle Schirn. ART ATTACKS (Working title) is a 3-part documentary series for BBC Arts. The series looks at some of Europe’s most important works of art and their theft. Each episode tells the story of a different heist in three of Europe’s most prestigious art capitals, Frankfurt, Stockholm and Oslo. Starting in 1994, each crime takes place within the following decade and sends the protagonists on extensive trails to recover the stolen art works. Stories are told through interviews with leading art experts, law enforcement officers and witnesses.
