The European Sourcebook Group is a group of experts that produces on a regular basis the European Sourcebook of Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics.
The first European Sourcebook project started in 1996. In that year the Council of Europe established a committee to prepare a compendium of crime and criminal justice data for its member states. 36 European countries participated, covering the period 1990 to 1996. The fifth edition of the European Sourcebook of Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics was published in 2014 and has covered the years from 2007 to 2011.
The sixth edition of the European Sourcebook of Crime and Criminal Justice is currently in the process of data collection. It is going to be prepared by a group of experts and data is collected by a group of countries via their national correspondents. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anna-Maria Getoš Kalac is national correspondent for Croatia and coordinator for the Balkan.
